I was just thinking that seven years ago, I was on my honeymoon. By this time on that week (Nov 8) hubby had already lost his wedding ring on the beach. AFTER I warned him not to wear it as it might get lost in the surf. He was understandably upset and for posterity, I took a picture of him searching in the sand for the ring. Tomorrow would be the day that we went island hopping. I remember throwing up in a (thankfully empty) shopping bag that belonged to a Japanese girl sitting next to me when we stopped for snorkelling just off the beautiful beach in Phi Phi Island. Very embarrassing.

Sometimes it feels like we've been married forever. And I mean that in a good way.

We still make each other laugh. A lot. And we still fight very rarely.

It's been a great seven years.

I'm happy for you. Don't worry about the wedding ring. As long as you still love each other, the wedding ring is really nothing.

Hey Jo-n! Thank you. We got another ring made exactly like the one he lost and had it blessed by the same priest who conducted our ceremony so it all worked out. :D

Hi Menchie - Congratulations! When was your wedding date? I got married to G in a church ceremony in Argentina on the 6th Nov so we've been celebrating our 'second' wedding too (eight years)...*sigh* I know what you mean about feeling like you've been married forever and yet, the wedding feels like yesterday!

Did you tell the Japanese girl that you threw up in her bag afterwards? (I wouldn't have, I would have steathily put it back in place and feigned surprise and shock when she realised!)...;)

I'm glad you sorted out the wedding ring thing. I can imagine how upset your hubby must have felt. But all is well that ends well and I am impressed you got his new ring blessed by the same priest.

That is soooooo romantic!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Happy Anniversary, Menchie! I hope you have something fun planned for the day...including a trip to Zara.

Yes, I have to work shopping into every occasion. I'm strange that way.

Hi M--that is a sweet sentiment. The years go so quickly, it's nice to hear that important feelings are still there (smile)!

Happy anniversary to you and hubby
..I found this wee quotation for u which I thougt was sweet:

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years. ~Simone Signoret

pssst!
Was your husband standing and looking over your shoulder when you were writing this post?
Is he still there?
How about Now?
Now?

I am certain that your husband must be perfectly wonderful, afterall, he did manage to catch you!

When he lost his ring on the beach right after you told him that he would did you roll your eyes and start to have second thoughts?

After seven years has he learned to heed your advice?
Is he still there?
How about now?

I remember being so worried I was going to lose my ring because I was so skinny and it would slip right off my hand. Now I couldn't get the damn thing off if I tried.

aminah,
thank you. that's a beautiful quote. so apt for a marriage.

HE,
LOL! He was NOT looking over my shoulder as I typed this post. Not sure if he's read it already.

Yes, I did say I told you so after he lost the ring. And no, he doesn't ALWAYS listen to my advice. :D Getting there soon..... :D
