Three day weekend! Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Monday is the Foundation Day celebration of the city where I work so it's a non-working holiday for offices in the area. Cool!

I've already planned to do the school run on Monday which I am looking forward to -- got to have a talk with the school administrator but I don't want to get into that right now. Then have a long nap with the kids after school. On a Monday. Wow. (It's so much nicer to be on holiday when everyone else has to go to school or work, isn't it?

A run at the Zara sale this lunchtime (new shoes!), a night out with my girlfriends at work tonight plus three whole days with no work. What more can I ask for?

Have a good weekend everybody!

What is it with you ladies and shoes?
Last day of school today for my Kindergarten student and my Grade 2 Teacher, High Schooler finished Thursday, and Uni students finished a week ago...
Summer is officially ON!

Canada Day is on July 1st and then we have one month of SUMMER because sometimes August turns into FALL and then we go back into 6 months of WINTER!

so YAY US!

You're absolutely right, Menchie. The best days off are the ones that happen when everyone else has to work. :-)

And speaking of Zara, there's been talk that we might be getting a store in Scottsdale. I hope it's true...

So, exactly how many pairs of shoes do you have? Don't lie now, girl...

Hope you enjoy your day off, tho.

Were you referring to the Zara sale in Rockwell, my dear? It was pure madness there yesterday. ;p

Enjoy your break, Mench!

You have Foundation Day, we have Independence Day this week. Hurray for days off!

Did you get some cute shoes? I could really use some shopping therapy right now.

Hope your night with the ladies went well. If they're anything like my friends, you can sit around doing nothing, and its a great time.

kj,
I had two days of loooong naps. Bliss!

HE,
Women and shoes... sort of like men with their cars. Read your post about summer and the bugs but at least you're not freezing cold anymore. :D

Ms. Val,
Zara in your area? Wheee!

Aidan,
Thanks! I still had to get up early because of the kids but I loved not being at work just the same.

Laurie,
I had lots of fun, I even cooked baked macaroni for my kids. :D

Diesel,
Thanks! She's adorable but also very high spirited. Not a bad thing, I know but it can be exhausting.

WW,
Haven't counted recently but probably around 50 give or take one or two pairs. :D

Irene,
Friday I was at the one in Shangri-La mall. I was in line at the counter for an hour! And I saw Sugar there too. Then I visited the Rockwell branch Saturday morning at 10. Less people but I didn't like the stock they had.

Keshi,
Yup, got new shoes. Cream colored sandals with 5 inch chunky heels. I wore it yesterday. *grin*

Marie,
I did, thanks! :D The kids enjoyed having me around during a weekday, I think.

Nicole,
Oh yeah, it's Fourth of July in the US. Have a great one!

I love my new shoes - I'm all shopped out after this weekend. Friday night was fun - we just had dinner and coffee and almost died laughing about stuff. Good thing the kids slept with their grandparents -- got home at around 1:30 am.

Nothing beats a three-day weekend that coincides with a sale at the Zara store. I hope it was a successful hunt. =)

I envy you and your 3-day weekend. Today is Wednesday and we have the day off in the US because it's July 4th. It's like a hole in the middle of our work week. Too bad they don't make it a friday every year!

Hugs Menchie!

What? You work in a different city from where you live? What's your commute?

I hope it's not TOO bad...

50 pairs of shoes, huh...I have two pairs of runners, one pair of sandals, two pairs of other shoes for work and on pair of dress shoes.

And I think that's too many :-)

Houseband,
Oh it was successful -- but I bought more stuff for my kids than for me. Prices of kids' shirts were ridiculously low!

keshi,
ok, will post one. :D

Dan,
Happy 4th of July! Yeah, it kinda sucks when it's the middle of the week. but hey, you can watch Die Hard 4! Or Transformers if you haven't seen it yet.

WW,
The commute usually takes an hour or so each way with NO traffic. Factor traffic in and you've got torture.

My hubby has two pairs of office dress shoes, one pair of trainers, two pairs of casual shoes one of which he doesn't wear. Men are different. People hardly notice what kind of shoe they're wearing. :D
