Nagsalita! You are as gorgeous make that fabulous as before!!! Word has it, too, that when you were "preggo," people couldn't tell from the back! asus!
Two (2) hours of catching up with Mags!!! That must have been a lot of fun!!!
I plan on going home by the end of the year or early next year with my parents... I hope we can all catch up.
Hey Graffiti! I kinda liked Physics in high school but didn't attempt it in college. :) My hubby though, like your son is a lot better at it being a physics and computer engineering major in college.
Aidan, I should've known you in college. Otherwise, I wouldn't have sat through those Math exams wondering how the heck I am going to even attempt to show a reasonably complicated way of arriving at the inevitably wrong answer. I wasn't even imaginative enough to draw an elephant.
See, it is a testament to my math skills that your calculation for number 2 seems like the official answer. Is it? (i really don't know!).
thanks... i used to love physics, but the maths got extreme after 2nd year, so i jumped into biochemsitry finished the degreefound there was no work.... then took the next logical step into finance...
Aidan, you and the hubby should get together, you have the same background. He finished physics and comp eng'g, taught college physics for a little while then decided to get an MBA and work for a bank. He's now investment banking and a CFA charter holder.
He became my boyfriend just before I started my MBA. I needed to pass the Finance and Acctg course -- HA HA HA!!!
i've been trying to figure out a mathe problem all week. this has put me over the top and made my headache official. i hope you do better with it all than i.
hildegarde, no context really, just an email i received which i thought was very amusing. the only math i am involved with right now is in the form of excel spreadsheets -- no more physics and calculus, thank goodness!
Oh darn it anyway, Aidan beat me to it! I'll take Greek Philosophers to block him...no wait talking Barbie Phrases for 500!
In 1992 Mattel released Teen Talk Barbie, which spoke a number of phrases including "Will we ever have enough clothes?", "I love shopping!", and "Wanna have a pizza party?" and the most famous line...
"Math class is tough!"
Although only about 1.5% of all the dolls sold said the phrase, it caused a public outcry.. thanks Wikipedia.

Hey Graffiti!

thanks for visiting!
Our math formula in high school...
step one take any number from the question.
2. Multiple by the number of people sitting in the row in front of you
3. divide by the page number of the test.
4. Subtract the number of people with blonde hair sitting in the 9 seats surrounding.
dont forget to show all working:)
..................................
Question 2 is 29.4 cm......
f=MA
3*9.8 (accel due to gavity)
29.4 N
100 N/M
100 N/M *10^-1 = 1/100 M/N
1/100 M/N * 29.4 N = .294M
or 29.4 cm
Simple:)
Aidan,
I should've known you in college.
P.S. to Aidan,
My husband just told me your calculation IS correct! *applause! applause!*
thanks... i used to love physics, but the maths got extreme after 2nd year, so i jumped into biochemsitry finished the degreefound there was no work.... then took the next logical step into finance...
Well that is a coincidence Menchie!
My son just got accepted to university to do engineering

Graffiti,
Wow! You must be so proud of him!
i've been trying to figure out a mathe problem all week. this has put me over the top and made my headache official. i hope you do better with it all than i.
:)
kj,
well good luck. if all else fails, just draw an elephant. it might make you feel better. :P
Nothing like a math question to stress me out!
Sorry, I'm crap at Maths.
Marie,
Me too! I wish I had the nerve to answer math questions like the ones I posted -- at least it would've been funny instead of pathetic!
You're bored, huh?
stace,
LOL! Actually, no. I was trying to distract myself from all the work I need to finish. :P
Some very unique Mathematicians there...the kind who murders Maths. LOL!
Keshi.
keshi,
exactly my brand of mathematics! :P
Funny !! (because I don't have a head for math), but I don't understand the context (still doing math ? your goodbye to math after high school ? ...)
hildegarde,
no context really, just an email i received which i thought was very amusing. the only math i am involved with right now is in the form of excel spreadsheets -- no more physics and calculus, thank goodness!
draw an elephant, menchie? geez, i never thought of that. you are a genius......
:)
Aaah, I can't even look at those equations! I have just done a tonne of maths coursework, and revision. (I'm still scarred by it all).
Helen
kj,
aw, shucks *shuffles feet*. LOL!!!
helen,
Ah, but the answers people provided for these equations are sheer genius! I hope it made you smile, even just a little bit. :D
Oh darn it anyway, Aidan beat me to it!

HE,
"Math is tough" is way better than "Math sucks!" which is what you would have heard from me when I was a teenager. :P
But, hey, you got the 500 for the talking barbie phrases! You're in the lead!!
Bloomin eck!
x
Caroline! I thought you'd like the elephant!
Those are funny! What's tragic is that someone actually submitted those answers for a grade!
ms. val,
these guys had a lot of nerve to submit those, but maybe they figured they'd make their teacher laugh while getting a zero!
This is very clever. First time here.
Hey Pecos Blue! Thanks for visiting! :D
The noose...seems like a pretty good solution to me.
HA HA! I have a Bachelor's degree in Math and even I was looking for some rope.
Jay,
I've felt that way several times in the middle of my finance exams in grad school. :)
Dan,
Oh come on, admit it, you've solved all of the problems already, right? DOn't be modest.... :D
